Great story! The characters are easy to love: especially Penelope. When I first began I thought it was set in a time long ago but it is actually set in modern day. I loved that it wasn't too modernized and that Penelope enjoyed the outdoors and the forests. It was truly enjoyable to read and I hope everyone can get a chance to grab this treasure.

Shelves: best-of-2015, 2015, november-2015 I really was pleasantly surprised by this book. I was expecting a conspiracy theory kind of thriller, so the sci-fi/apocalyptic aspect caught me off guard but really gave the book a depth and interest level that I wasn't anticipating.

Post-nuclear survival tale within the metro tunnels, humanity becoming Morlocks and strange flying creatures preventing any egress. This is a cult-classic dystopia that managed to catapult high despite originally being given away for free a little more than a decade ago.

Child 44 (first published in 2008) is a thriller novel by British writer Tom Rob Smith. This is the first novel in a trilogy featuring former MGB Agent Leo Demidov, who investigates a series of gruesome child murders in Joseph Stalin's Soviet Union.

Three stars doesn't really tell the tale because this book strikes me as a 2/5 if there ever was one. On the positive side, the premise is fascinating and nicely fleshed out. The hero is decent and appealing, the sidekicks are strong, and the secondary characters are colorful and varied.

Something that started as a simple case of a mystery behind a stolen expensive wine, losses all its simplicity with mysterious goings on, A mystery of the caliber that you would expect penned by the duo Child and Preston with the main protagonist, the very unique FBI special agent, Pendergast centre stage of a gothic landscape and a gothic mystery tale in all the sense of the word.

Jussi Adler-Olsen is a master in the art of writing police novels. This book is even better than The Keeper of Lost Causes . An old message in a bottle puts Department Q in full swing.

Truly deserving of the accolade Modern Classic, Donna Tartt's cult bestseller The Secret History is a remarkable achievement - both compelling and elegant, dramatic and playful. Under the influence of their charismatic classics professor, a group of clever, eccentric misfits at an elite New England college discover a way of thinking and living that is a world away from the humdrum existence of their contemporaries.

World War I may have ended in 1918, but the violence it triggered in the Middle East still hasn't come to an end. Arbitrary borders drawn by self-interested imperial powers have left a legacy that ...

A secret that is just as magical as it technological - and twice as dangerous. Praise for the Rivers of London novels: 'Ben Aaronovitch has created a wonderful world full of mystery, magic and fantastic characters.

Follett's latest is a bio-thriller taking place over a wintry Christmas holiday in northern Scotland and well larded with family drama. Toni Gallo is the driven head of security for Oxenford Medical (aka the Kremlin), a research facility working on a cure for Madoba-2, an especially virulent strain of Ebola.

There are a couple of elements of 'Rapunzel' in here, but really it's an original story, and much more complex than a simple fairy tale. To try to badge it as a 'retelling' of a classic is inaccurate and does a disservice to the rich fantasy novel that Novik has created.

Because Terrence Skinner has a secret hidden in the bowels of the SCC. A technology that stretches back to Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage, and forward to the future of artificial intelligence. A secret that is just as magical as it technological—and just as dangerous.

What’s goin’ on everybody, this is Fry. So today, simple as this, we are bringing back the best deck in the entire game, other than maybe Cyclecap, and I actually sorta built this deck in order to counter Cyclecap. This is of course Valk Trickster Hybrid. It’s been one of the best since the beginnin
